When I think of all the images I've seen this year, this is the one that sticks with me. You didn't see this picture on American television, or in U.S. newspapers, magazines or any other U.S. media. His name is Ali Ismaeel Abbas, one of the Iraqi civilian casualties we didn't count. And here's what our government - with our tax dollars - did to him.
This was Parker, sitting in his Papa's lap on our flight to Atlanta, worn out from a whirwind holiday of meeting grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I just happened to look over, and decided this moment was too cute not to be preserved. So, I whipped out the Palm Zire 71 and snapped it.
As we were waiting for our gate to open at the Augusta Regional Airport, this sign caught my eye, and I wondered "What is a male/female purse? Do bags have gender?"
