I don't know if I've blogged about this before, but I have to say I'm enjoying former right-winger David Brock's latest project, Media Matters. It's a web source dedicated to
comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.
Not that the far right needs any help looking bad. But I do think it's a good thing to have some entity out there countering them whenever and where ever they spout their particular brand of bile.
The new ad campaign aimed at Rush Limbaugh and his comments on the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal seems worthwhile to me. I mean it isn't going to change the minds of hardcore "dittoheads," but it will cause some people to think twice about supporting an agenda to which someone like Limbaugh has such strong ties. Maybe I'm optimistic, but I think that if Limbaugh's comments are taken beyond the "safe zone" of his ardent supporters and listeners a lot of people will be appalled at what they hear.
